About us

AGIA IRINI, Psychiatric Clinic of Drama

Provision of healthcare services in Eastern Macedonia, Thrace, and nationwide

Our Identity

Agia Irini, based in Drama, is a private psychiatric clinic dedicated to providing high-quality mental health services, with a focus on people and a deep sense of social responsibility.

Our History

The Clinic was founded by the company Psychiatric Clinic of Drama S.A. and began operating in January 2000, on a lush green site of 15 acres, with an initial capacity of 100 beds.

The founding objective was to address the significant gap in mental health services in the wider region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace.

In 2014, in response to growing needs, the Clinic undertook a major expansion of its facilities with the addition of a new, state-of-the-art ward, increasing its total capacity to 236 beds. This new ward is specifically designed for the care of psychogeriatric patients and individuals with chronic conditions.

Our Mission

The mission of the Psychiatric Clinic of Drama Agia Irini is to provide comprehensive, scientifically grounded, and humane care for individuals with mental disorders, with the aim of restoring their functionality and reintegrating them into their family and social environment.

In pursuing this mission, we:

  • Provide care with absolute respect for human dignity.
  • Promote social acceptance and the fight against stigma.
  • Advance prevention through awareness and early intervention.
  • Invest in the continuous education and development of our staff.

Our Vision

We envision Agia Irini becoming a model provider of psychiatric services at both national and international level, with a strong presence and recognition across the Balkans and within the scientific community.

We are an organisation:

  • that delivers high-quality healthcare services,
  • where employees feel respect, trust, and fulfilment,
  • that fosters a spirit of pride and shared purpose among all its people.

Our Values

Our values form the foundation of our daily operations and are reflected in every interaction with our patients, their families, our partners, and society.

  1. Respect for human dignity

We recognise the value of every individual and approach each case with sensitivity and empathy.

  1. Professional integrity

We are committed to transparency, honesty, and consistency at all levels of operation.

  1. Teamwork and collaboration

We believe in the power of collective effort and foster an environment of cooperation and mutual respect.

  1. Continuous learning and development.

We encourage lifelong education, scientific training, and the personal growth of our staff.

  1. Equality and fairness

We apply principles of equality and equal treatment, ensuring fair opportunities and merit-based care for all.

  1. Humanity and compassion

Our care is grounded in our deep belief that mental health requires support, understanding, and love.

Corporate Social Responsibility

At Agia Irini, by recognising and embracing the principle of Corporate Social Responsibility, we approve on an annual basis initiatives and actions that contribute to addressing environmental and social issues, aiming to strengthen our close relationship with the local community and address its challenges.”

In this context, our Clinic often participates as a sponsor of cultural and other events organised by local associations and organisations. In addition, given the ongoing energy crisis, Agia Irini continues to invest in renewable energy sources, having already applied for the installation of a new 260kW photovoltaic park, in addition to the existing one of 100kW.

Another area in which our Clinic shows particular sensitivity is recycling and the safe disposal of medical waste, managed through a specialised company. Furthermore, actively supporting the efforts of the Municipality, we are preparing to install separate bins for the disposal of all paper waste as well as packaging made of plastic, glass, and aluminium. In this way, we seek to contribute to the preservation of our planet’s natural resources.

Scientific Contribution

At the Psychiatric Clinic of Drama Agia Irini, we believe that scientific knowledge and ongoing research activity are key pillars of high-quality mental health care. Our medical and scientific staff actively participate in conferences, workshops, research projects, and publications, contributing to the continuous advancement of psychiatric science.
